American kennel club (A.K.C) was founded in 1884 ,most trusted for dog breeds information and specialization in training, dog ownership and other training sports. From the other 195 breeds, grade Dane got 16th rank by the club.
Considered “Apollo of dogs” because it is prominent of all like Apollo of Roman and Greek gods. Further in 1889 the parent club of A.K.C for Grade Dane ,The Grade Dane club of America was formed and then after breed came into consideration.
The grade Dane recognized in 1887 by this American club.
HISTORY OF THIS BREED :
- The breed comes from Germany 400 years ago, known for their great guarding instinct.
- They named as “Deutche-Dogge “- used to hunt wild boar and act as a guard to Nobel class of Germany because of their heavy head.
- It is also considered as mark of protecting and safeguarding .
- There emergence mainly in European countries like France, Denmark, Denmark and England but now exported worldwide.( These points are recognized by American kennel club).

Grade Dane got short hair coated fur with smooth shine on it . They also got variety of colors and markings like Fawn, blue, brindle( yellow- gold color), black, harlequin,(white base with black patches on them)mantle, Merle( with grey base and torn black spots in it).
